I can't believe Ive had only two takers for my offer of FREE (yes, free, even including shipping!)beer caps in the past six months. Don't any new collectors ever red this page? These are in groups of 23, mostly American, none very unusual, all used but in good shape, and offered to help beginners. Those with thousands of caps will find nothing new, but beginners can add to their trading stock if nothing else. C'mon, collectors: take some off my hands.

My great grandfather Vincas was a cooper by trade and so was his father Pranas I believe.. They may of worked for a brewery since their residence was in Suvainiskis nearby...vincas left in 1903..any help would be appreciated.. thanks

I'm looking for info on Ranier Beer bottle caps from the early '70s...the ones with rebus puzzles on them (a rebus puzzle is a group of drawings and letters which can be decoded to make a common phrase). Ranier published several dozen of these puzzles inside their bottle caps in the early to mid-70s. Any info and/or images would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, I do not collect beer caps - but I have these for trading. I am collecting AIRLINE+AIRPORT drink coasters- (Bierdeckel / Getraenkeuntersetzer aller Art und Material) that means at least a beer cap related collecting. Perhaps somebody has anything in this direction in his stock.

Hello all,
The update to TBCP is now postponed, for several reasons. Thanks to my 2 year old son, my home PC no longer works, and everything on the hard disk was lost. Yes, I do have a backup of some files, but I will have to redo much of the work. Also, my wife is now working full-time during the day and taking courses at night, so I have even less time than before to complete my trades and upgrade The Beer Cap Page.
Because of this, I do not know when the new TBCP (at crowncaps.org) will be ready, but I am hoping that it will be soon. Sorry *AGAIN* for the delay...

Dear Cap collectors, in the start of september I told you about my problems with Andrius Piskius (Hippy) of Lithuania we had waited for a year to get caps for a trade we started in october last year. Now the caps have come - so Hippy is not a crook he is just very very slow. We received some very nice caps. This trade took a year. hi collectors. I like to add something to the discussion about trust. Since I trade over the internet (starting 3 years ago) I traded over 300 times with many collectors all over the world and had only a few bad experiences. 1% of the packages may get lost or not answered. If you trade with someone for the first time, just start with a small trade if you want to be careful. At least I got many nice and good trades. And remind that some collectors are very critical about quality while others are less critical. Just try to reach a balance, and you kwow after a few times. And don't forget that some collectors (from exotic countries) get overloaded with trades (so give them some time and be patient). Thanks to the internet many caps travel around the world! So use it and trust if you enjoy your hobby.

Lost caps My son Peter and I have been internettrading caps for over 1 year now and we have met many nice people. We have only been fooled once: By Andrius Pieskus (Hippy) of Lithuania. We have send him caps twice. The first time we got caps in return - some were very bent and twisted. The second time (last october) we send him caps. And we are still waiting! After a couple of months of waiting we asked him if he was going to send in return and he answered Yes naturally - but nothing came. Now he does not even answer any more. Have you bad experiences with him also, or it is just us who have been unlucky?

Before we start calling people names, before accusing people of not completing trades, or before making open threats to other people, maybe we first need to exercise more patience...
Mr. Mora is probably overwhelmed with offers to trade crowncaps, as most new Web collectors are. This is surely true for him because he lives in Costa Rica, a place that most people would consider to be exotic. I am positive that many collectors saw his message on TBCP as a fantastic opportunity to pick up some rare caps from Latin America, and tried to rush exchanges with him by sending him solicited and unsolicited packages full of crowns.
Personally, I know I have had a great deal of difficulty in completing some trades over the last while, yet I still have the full intention on completing the exchanges. José is probably shocked over the amount of mail he has received over the last few months, and may be having problems putting together packages for fellow collectors because he simply does not have enough duplicates.

May I suggest that we give our fellow collectors the benefit of the doubt, and give them a reasonable amount of time to complete trades -- before considering to chastise them with inflammatory postings on a World-Wide Web page?

My fellow pushers from Moscow get some grass from there. They also wash some cash in the area. So if there is any need, we can find the guy and make life quite miserable for him and his family. I haven't collected bottle caps very lately, but about a year ago I collected them a lot. I got about a thousand or so, mostly Budweisers, but I do have some from Jamaica, and Mexico, and many weird ones from the U. S. I probably will start up again now that I found that there are many others that enjoy this hobby. I got one with a Budweiser frog on it giving the finger. To new collectore: I advise you to be suspicious of traders you find here. Send only a few caps that you can afford to lose to anyone for the first trade. I've been cheated several times by receiving duplicates, badly dented or faded caps, and even none at all. It's too bad, but that's the way the human race has become.

I am a student at Colorado State University. I have recently decided to start making coffee tables after I got many compliments on mine. The catchy part of the table is that I lay beer caps into an epoxy and then put glass over the top of that. The tables come out looking great and I have too many orders to fill right now. CANADA(ONTARIO)CAP NEWS - NEW CAP DESIGNS New cap designs so far noted here are this summer include a new design for the Lakeport Breweries, Lakeport series of "value beers" (Dry, light, strong, ice, and beer). After a brief period this winter when all were using the "Laker" cap they have all gone to a new cap design - white "LAKEPORT" on gold. Molson Canadain for the 3rd straight summer has issued a "Molson Canadain Rocks" cap for a summer promotion. In 1999 they have gone away from the very attractive leaf motive to the picture of a house. This ties in with a contest to win a house party (and the house) somewhere in the Rocky Mountains of Western Canada.

CANADA (ONTARIO) CAP NEWS - NEW BEER The new trend in beer for summer 1999 looks like Steam Beer. Both Sleeman and the small Muskoka Breweries have introduced Steam Beer this month. Both have new cap designs. Sleeman's is their normal design, red on silver. Muskoka is also like their Cream Ale cap but is on a blue background. If these sell well I anticipate a flood of additional Steam Beers on the market.

Ontario Canada Beer Cap News New Caps - Late 1998 saw some new caps on market. Molson introduced "Diamond" a lager with 2.5% alcohol. In contrast Lakeport has started packaging "Mongoose Malt Liquor" (8%) in bottles. This beer was only available in cans before. "Milwaukee Ice", from Stroh's in the US is now available in Canada at the Beer Store. Cap Design changes - Molson has put an anniversary cap on "Export" White letters on black say "History in the Making since 1903" This is the 95th anniversary of Export, not Molson. Sleeman's attractive caps are under going a minor change to all their "beaver and leaf" caps. The words "Twist-off" are being omitted but the tiny arrows remain. Starting with "Honey Brown" in August, "Cream Ale", "Lager", and "Dark" (brown, red, green, and blue)have all changed. The green has shown major colour variations in the new design. "Light" (black)is sure to follow. Upper Canada is changing it line of caps as well. "Lager", "Dark Ale" and "Wheat" have all gone to the attractice design first introduced for "Maple Brown" in June 1998. Other brands are sure to follow Lost Caps - Lakeport is now using "Laker" caps on its Lakeport series of brands replacing the two generic caps used on those 5 beer. Brick is using a Plain Gold cap on its Licensed "Fix" beer.
