WiseScan is a sophisticated impact analysis tool and
code renovation aide that runs on the Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT platform.
WiseScan scans, analyzes and reports on any source code text file. WiseScan
uses a specialised text scanner to find words that match user
determined strings (keywords). The product is pre-loaded with several
Rule Sets (keyword search strings), and can be customized by the user to
search for an unlimited number of strings and patterns. WiseScan will
take you to the exact location in the code by displaying the keyword
found, line number and source text, making it much easier to identify
problem areas rather than spending needless hours physically reviewing
program listings and subjecting it to human error. Multi-word strings
are also supported. Using a seed file of keyword candidates, WiseScan
determines the usage of keywords within programs. The reporting is
extensive and is designed for project managers, programmers and senior
management. WiseScan works with files from any source (mainframe, mini,
server, etc.) as long as the user has a connection. In cases where the
user does not have a link, the user can simply copy files and port them
to the PC for scanning and analysis. In addition to Year 2000 projects,
