stuffed body over wire armature.
 
When I started sculpting 
this doll, I wasn't sure 
what I was really doing. 
The more I worked on it, 
the more I began to see, 
rising from the head, the look of 
an old lady at the turn of the century.

Her clothes are made 
of antique silk and cotton scarfs. 
I guess she could be a part 
of The Miserables (novel by Victor  Hugo), but I prefer to think of her 
as an old knitter who sits in Paris  parks and enjoys knitting for other  people. She works all day long, 
listening to the birds and 
the rumors  of  the city, 
even it does not pay much...
