Features
CAM's ISDN connection provides the best cost / performance solution for connecting small office LANs (local area networks) to the Internet. The dedicated ISDN (integrated services digital network) Internet access uses digital technology to support reliable voice, data, image, video and packet-switched data transmissions at 64Kbp/s (1B channel) and 128Kbps/s (2B channels). To use with this service, fully qualified, static routable IP addresses are provided as you require. The service includes a primary and secondary domain name service (DNS) and one mailbox accessible through the POP3 protocol. Recommended usage CAM's ISDN dedicated Internet access is suitable for a company with a small office LAN or a small-volume web server that requires an Internet connection 24 hours a day. It is an appropriate service for occasionally sending e-mails with file attachments, retrieving information from the World Wide Web (WWW) using a browser and participating in newsgroup discussions (USENET). Recommended hardware You must order an ISDN BRI (basic rate interface) line from your local phone company. You also need an ISDN router incorporating an NT1 or a computer with a terminal adapter (TA) with an NT1; equipment must support PPP, CHAP, Multilink PPP (to allow use of more than one B channel simultaneously) and unnumbered connections. For 64 Kbps and 128 Kbps connections, you will require a router, such as the Ascend Pipeline 50, 75 or the Netopia 655 for small networks with one group of IP addresses. Pricing
(1) Taxes are not included. The monthly rate depends of your choice between a 64 Kbps or a 128 Kbps connection. Moreover, initial installation fees are required. Fees for the ISDN BRI line are under your responsibility and can be obtained by your local phone company (the availability of the service depends of your provider's offer). |
